Lung Fu

CF Doesn't Stand a Chance Against...LUNG FU!

I thought I'd try starting one of these threads, so bear with me. If you're anything like me, you become a slave to the TV set while plugged in with a nebulizer in your mouth for an average of up to 20 minutes a vial and 4 vials. As a result, in the evenings I've become addicted to some TV shows, almost to the point of driving my wife and son to other rooms!

For instance, my usual fallback is watching MSNBC's talk-show lineup of Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, and depending on the night, I intersperse other shows ranging from '24' and 'Chuck', to loads of the 'Family Guy' and 'the Office'. Fridays are must-see TV with 'The Soup' on E!.

That being said, I have to admit my biggist guilty pleasure is a show that just wrapped up for the season: 'Brett Michael's Rock of Love Tour Bus". It's awful but mesmerizing at the same time!!! Something about watching hagged out strippers chase after a has-been, aging, minor rock star has gotten me hooked!!!

OK, so what's you're nebulizer vice?

I prefer to browse the internet while using the nebulizer - especially if I'm on a round of TOBI. Somehow, the interactivity of the 'net distracts me from the terrible taste of the TOBI. The hilarious videos I have found during this time might not be appropriate to share here, come to think of it.

I have also been known to clean whatever room I'm in, and one time I even straightened my hair.

I must say, I hadn't heard of 'Brett Michael's Rock of Love Tour Bus' - sounds perfectly hideous - so now I want to check it out!

VH-1, baby!!!! It's got some of the best trash-reality shows ever!!!!!

I tried surfing the internet, but I always have an issue with saline and other mist droplets hitting the laptop. For you though, go to vh1.com and follow the links to get on Brett's bus.

Brett Michael's show sounds like a rockin' version of Jerry Springer... nice! And I can confirm that fivepercent is on the Net when she nebulizes... hard to get her attention if so!

LOL - Tony, I am sorry but I just had to laugh when I read that you watch Brett Michael's Rock of Love Tour Bus. You are too funny. My husband watches it sometimes too. Must be a guy-thing. :)

In the morning I play X-Box during my treatment. I love the Lara Croft Tomb Raider games. Or I watch old episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Star Trek. Yes, I am a total geek! Always have been, always will be.

In the afternoon I do my treatment while working. Which explains my monitor problems too. yuck!

In the evening I do my treatments while watching TV. We DVR everything and then fast forward thru the commercials - it is truly the only way to watch American Idol. It is the best - you can just fast forward thru all the crap and just get to what Simon has to say. lol. We are also addicted to The Office, 24, NCIS, Recuse Me, Big Bang Theory, Two & Half Men, and Fringe. We watch a lot of TV....at full volume in order to hear it over the noise from the compressor and neb.

Just so you know, one of Brett's tatooed roadie rejects from last season landed her own reality spin-off show called "Daisy of Love". i think it starts this week.

I listen to the TV at full volume too! When I read your reply, I laughed soooooo hard because, it sounds just like me. Only my boyfriend plays tricks on me and acts like he's talking out loud and that I can't hear him. I like watching the news in the morning, at work I do work, and at night I watch old episodes of Friends, Jeopardy, Judge Judy, House, One Tree Hill, Hell's Kitchen, Law and Order SVU, The Office, and old episodes of ER.

I just remembered this photo!

My best friend took this while I was staying at her place in Gainesville, FL (now she is LA, what a jetsetter)

TV! My nebulizer is next to my easy chair, in direct view of my 42in flat-screen. In the mornings its usually ESPN or local news, and in the evenings it depends on what time I do the treatment. If nothing is on, I'll find some sport to watch. This time of the year I have my Yankees to keep me entertained...
